Of January (stealing blog titles)

The weather has been up and down here.  Mud and snow... or mud then snow.... then rain... then snow... or mud.  blech.  So the body can't get used to this and feels undecided at best.

This time of year isn't my favorite.  No bike riding, no gardening, no sunshine... just refer to the first sentence.  But, also not much snow shoveling.  Which is great for bad shoulders and driving in general.

Our wee lad will be 20 next month.  Yes, years old.  I'm stunned too.  He has grown into a fine, polite, talented, focused (mostly) young man.  I guess we did something right along the way.

Baking should happen today.  Tidying of crap laying about, dishes washing right now, chicken feed brought in, laundry slowly worked on (necessary when you hang everything to dry inside in the winter), and probably something else I'm forgetting.  Oh, yeah... a career to build.  Ha!  Or something like, mumbling...

Oh, and I love my family.

That's so incredible to have a 20 year old who's all those things! I hope I end up doing some things right too.

Now is the time to keep warm and plan your spring garden. You only have one more month to go before the season changes. You just have to hang in there!

From the sounds of your blog, you have an exceptional boy yourself. I think sometimes doing something right has almost nothing to do with us as parents.

Ha! I wish one more month. Have you ever been to NE Ohio? Egad, it's unpredictable. We've had ridiculous spring-like weather all winter. But today it's winter. Loads of snow, the lot. Typically spring doesn't really hit until mid-April, but now.. who knows.

Thanks for the encouragement. Sorry for the tirade.
